Francisco Gallegos

​Francisco (he/him) is a bilingual elementary educator with a bachelor of science, elementary education with TESOL and CLDE endorsements.  He served in the classroom at the beginning of 2015 and honed his skills as a bilingual elementary educator working exclusively in title 1 schools with Latinx students. Francisco engages students through multiple disciplines like music, dancing, drawing, literacy, mathematics, science, emotional intelligence, communication, and collaboration. In his time in the classroom he taught alongside professional educators with decades of experience. He designed lessons and collaborated with other teachers to create thematic units for every academic area. He thrived when collaborating and co-teaching with other educators.  He always strives to build trust with students in order to help them develop and grow in a constructive and developmentally appropriate way. Francisco reflects upon the efficacy of his teaching methods and is passionate about evolving and building upon his skillset. Fun and learning go hand in hand in his e-learning environment. He empowers students by teaching them to embrace the community around them like their family and classmates. He teaches students to think introspectively and make decisions that will help them progress happily and healthily. His dedication to students comes from a profound respect for education. Education has the power to liberate people of color and marginalized people. Francisco brings his extensive knowledge of child development to specifically craft a learning experience that yields sustainable results. Currently Francisco is nearing the end of completing his master’s degree majoring in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education with a bilingual specialist endorsement.

MENTOR QUALIFICATION:

  • CO teaching license in Elementary Education and an endorsement as a Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Bilingual Education Specialist 

  • 7 years of experience teaching all academic subjects in English and Spanish

  • Trained in biliteracy from the start teaching methods

  • Expected graduation date of 2021 for a MA in CLDE and Bilingual Specialist Endorsement

  • Extensive knowledge and implementation of e-learning environments
